January and February Recap

This a post that will recap the films or tv show episodes I’ve seen in the past month. Forgot to do January so I combining these two months together. This was inspiration by skoce.com/  for his posts of “What I watched in”. I will also talks about movies that I saw but weren’t big enough for a post review. I also put links to movies I did reviews on.

Movies:

Ride Along 2: Boring but harmless, (could have seen Norm of the North but I changed my mind) (I chose wisely). D

Dirty Grampa: Very dirty and some of the jokes fall flat. (Only saw this because it was my Mom’s Birthday and she wanted to watch this). F+

Kung Fu Panda 3: While I still like Kung Fu Panda 2 better, this is still a great follow up. A-

Hail Caesar: I found this underwhelming, though Hobie Doyle was funny and the dance scene with Burt Gurney was fun. C

Deadpool: A very funny superhero movie that redeems Ryan Reynolds for X-men Origins Wolverine. A-

Zoolander 2: Mostly a time waster but still had some funny moments. C

Shows:

Steven Universe: Great introduction to Yellow Diamond A+

Gravity Falls: One of the greatest series finales I have seen. A

Academy Awards Predicted Winners

With the Academy Awards in three days, I thought that would give my ideal winners. I’m not including documentary awards, live action short film, or foreign. These prediction are based on my logical opinion. Even if I have not seen the movie or I think this other movie is better than the winner I choose.

Best Picture: The Revenant  

Best Director: The Revenant

Best Actor: Leonardo DiCaprio – The Revenant

Best Actress: Brie Larson – Room 

Best Supporting Actor: Sylvester Stallone – Creed 

Best Supporting Actress: Kate Winslet – Steve Jobs

Best Sound Mixing: Mad Max Fury Road (Fun Fact: This is the only category where I have seen all the nominations)

Best Film Editing:  Mad Max Fury Road (deja vu)

Deadpool Review

The movie Deadpool is pretty much  redemption for Ryan Reynolds performace of Deadpool in X-Men Origins:Wolverine. This movie was fun, hilarious, and stays true to what Deadpool’s character is.

Deadpool is about Wade Wilson who finds out he has cancer. He joins a secret program run by Ajax to find a cure for his cancer. He is then used for experiments and while is cancer is cured his face is disfigured. He is now out for revenge while still retaining his humor.

While this movie is good it does have flaws.  Some of the other characters like Wade’s love interest Vanessa is just the typical love interest character and the villain Ajax is just the typical villain. The story is also just a love and revenge story put in just so the movie has a plot.

Ryan Reynolds plays Deadpool wonderfully as the snarky, swearing anti hero. Even the x men characters Colossus and Negasonic Teenage Warhead (yes that’s her name) are also good characters that work off Deadpool. The comedy in this film pretty much saves it from the flaws i mentioned. There are so many fourth wall jokes The opening credits is one of the funniest parts of the movie. Spoilers: Ryan’s name is replaced with God’s Perfect Idiot, Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha. The action also done very well though it is a little gory at times.

Deadpool in the end is still a fun, funny addition to the Marvel movies is I would recommend you to see this movie is your a big fan of Deadpool.

Gravity Falls Season 1 Episode Ranking

Funny Idea for a Steven Universe parody video

This was an idea I made back in 2014 when Mirror Gem appeared. The parody involved me being a character in the show. It’s based on the fact that Pearl was the one who gave Steven the mirror which triggered a bunch a events later.

After the scene where Steven smacks Garnet and runs off with the mirror, I would walk to a cupboard called the Blame Cupboard. The Blame Cupboard would have four bottles of wine. I would take a drink out of the wine bottle who is to blame in that scene (that being Pearl).

Here is what the bottles would be like in Mirror Gem. Garnet’s bottle would have cobwebs meaning that she has not been blamed for anything. Amethyst’s bottle, they would actually be  three empty bottles and one almost empty, meaning she gets blamed a lot (LOL). Pearl’s bottle has a little bit gone. But since this is about Mirror Gem, her bottle is the one a take a drink out of. Steven’s bottle is half full or half empty.

Now this is the funny thing about this parody. I put this idea to the side, and then Cry for Help appeared. (The episode where Pearl betrays Garnet by forcing her to fuse). My little gag became so ironic after that (LOL). Now in the parody I would be pretty much drinking right out of the bottle.

I guess now I’ll have to get a bottle for Peridot (LOL)
